Arsenal will consider selling Alexis Sanchez for a cut-price fee in January, while a big-money signing has been told he is finished at Tottenham, according to Wednesday’s newspapers.
City Confident Of
£20m Deal For Sanchez In January
Manchester City are confident they will snatch Alexis
Sanchez away from Arsenal for just £20m in the January transfer window,
according to reports.
Pep Guardiola’s side saw a reported £60m offer for the
player rejected by the Gunners in the summer as Arsenal refused to do business
with a Premier League rival. But Sanchez will be allowed to negotiate with
foreign clubs in the New Year and could sign a pre-contract agreement.
However, it’s claimed the player has set his heart on a move
to the Etihad and The Sun claims the transfer could be sealed as early as
January with City ready to pay just £20million for the Chile forward.
Guardiola remains desperate to be reunited with the player,
but will not pay over the odds for a player who will be available for nothing
in the summer and is prepared to wait to land his man. However, Arsenal may
finally decide to cut their losses in January and let the player move on, depending
on their position in the league.
Guardiola, meanwhile, will speak to Eliaquim Mangala and
Fabian Delph this week to reassure them they still have a part to play.
Both saw moves away from City fall through before the
transfer deadline. Delph was a Stoke target while Mangala sparked interest from
both Crystal Palace and Inter Milan.
Emre Can Talks
Stall With Liverpool
Liverpool risk losing Emre Can on a free transfer next
summer after their latest attempt to strike a deal over a new contract broke
down, reports the Mirror.
The Reds are refusing to bow to the German's demands over a
buyout clause but will reportedly meet the wage demands set at £100,000 per
week.
Philippe Coutinho was unable to force a move this summer
with Barcelona's inability to trigger a release clause that gave the Reds all
the power in negotiations.
Juventus are keen to sign the 23-year-old and could agree to
a deal in January if the Reds fail to agree to terms.
Costa Deal Key To Simeone
Extension
Diego Simeone signed his new contact with Atletico Madrid
only after the club promised to bring Diego Costa back to the Spanish capital
in January, claims the Mirror, with the Argentinian coach has penned new terms
to tie himself to the club until 2020.
And one of his conditions for him to extend his stay was to
bring Costa back midseason from Chelsea three-and-a-half years after departing
the Calderon.
Costa is back in London after a summer away in Brazil, and
Atleti now hope to finalise the signing once their transfer ban expires ahead of
the January transfer window.
De Gea Asks Ramos To
Help Push Through Real Madrid Move
Manchester United star David De Gea has reportedly asked
Sergio Ramos to help him join Real Madrid.
The pair are currently on international duty with Spain,
having beaten Italy 3-0 on Saturday before winning 8-0 at Liechtenstein on
Tuesday night.
Spanish outlet Diario Gol claim that De Gea has his heart
set on a move to Madrid and he wants Ramos to try and broker a deal behind the
scenes.
The report adds that while Real president Florentino Perez
tried to bring the United ‘keeper to the Bernabeu this summer, Zinedine Zidane
blocked the deal.
De Gea came close to moving to Los Blancos in 2015, with
Keylor Navas set to go the other way, however the deal broke down late in the
transfer window.
