The agent of a Chelsea target has hinted that his client could be ready to move, while Arsenal players could miss out on a big bonus if they finish outside the top four, according to Saturday’s papers.
Koulibaly Agent Hints At Chelsea Switch
The agent of Kalidou Koulibaly has hinted that his client could make a move to Chelsea this summer.
The Napoli central defender was wanted by Blues boss Antonio Conte in last summer’s transfer window but Chelsea reportedly had a £58m offer turned down.
The 25-year-old signed a new five-year deal with the Serie A club this season but it is believed that a monster bid would secure his services, according to The Sun.
His agent believes that nothing should be ruled out for now, telling Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli: “Chelsea were interested [last summer] but then they signed David Luiz and you also have John Terry and Gary Cahill at the club so there is a lot of competition there.
“So we will see what happens. A lot of the improvements that Koulibaly has made in his game has been down to the coaching of Maurizio Sarri.
“Whatever happens in the future will depend on the president and whether or not he decides to evaluate any offers that may come in.”
Arsenal Stars Could Lose Out On £5m Cl Bonus
Arsenal players are expected to lose out on bonuses worth about £5million if they fail to qualify for the Champions League this season.
According to The Times, the Gunners reward the squad when they reach the group stage of the competition to the tune of about £200,000 per player, though that is not evenly split.
Arsenal are currently four points behind fourth-placed Manchester City, although they do have a game in hand.
It’s worth noting though that Arsene Wenger’s men have qualified for the Champions League for the past 20 seasons in a row.
Marseille In Mood To Move For Giroud
Talk of a revamp at Arsenal has seen plenty of focus on who could come in, but a bit less on who might go out.
But the Sun reports that striker Olivier Giroud could be on his way out, with Marseille having made contact about "a big-money move to the French coast."
Although the France international only recently signed a new deal to keep him at the Emirates until 2019, Marseille have made him a target and are keen to add more big names following the signing of Dimitri Payet in the winter.
The Sun adds that Arsenal would be unlikely to block a move for Giroud as they prepare for major changes to their squad.
City Could Try Again For Bonucci
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola is on the lookout for a central defender -- and the one he could go for is Leonardo Bonucci of Juventus, according to the Manchester Evening News.
It reports that Guardiola "has made a partner for John Stones a key part of his plans" and Italy international Bonucci "fits the profile of the player he believes will bring the best out of his £47.5 million signing."
City, having tried to sign Bonucci last summer, could go back in for him again and "might fancy their chances 12 months on -- particularly after his public fall out with coach Max Allegri," the Evening News says.
