Super Eagles will play their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations
qualifier against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio
International Stadium in Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom State, South-South Nigeria on Saturday, June 10, 2017.
It wwill be Nigeria’s first game in the race for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. The Super Eagles, three-time African champions, have missed
out on the 2015 and 2017 editions, as well as missing out on the 2012 edition,
before winning the 2013 edition in South Africa.
New Eagles’ coach Gernot Rohr has started brilliantly, with
West Africans yet unbeaten in four games, and has led the team to the top of
their World Cup qualifying group, after beating Zambia and Algeria in their
first two games of the series.
The game against South Africa will also be the Super Eagles’
first competitive game of the year.
Both teams also faced-off in the race for the 2015 AFCON,
with the Bafana Bafana qualifying at the expense of the Super Eagles.
