Nigeria captain Mikel Obi will make his official debut in the Chinese Super League next month when Tianjin TEDA take on Shandong Luneng away on the 4th of March.
The newly promoted TEDA will be hoping to record a win in their opening day despite losing their fifth consecutive pre-season friendly 4-1 to South Korean top division side Gyeongnam FC on Tuesday with Mikel featuring for the whole game.
Tianjin TEDA will also take on South Korean sides Daegu FC and Shang Shangwu on Thursday and next Monday before returning to China for the final preparations for the season.
Also, Obafemi Martins' Shanghai Shenhua who crashed out of the Asian Champions League in the play-offs to Brisbane Roar on Wednesday will take on Jiangsu Suning in their opening day fixture.
Guangzhou Hengda will take on Beijing Guoan. The CSL is expected to end on the 4th of November, 2017.
