Samuel Eto'o has been linked with a move to a surprise club outside of Europe. The Cameroonian has made waves wherever he has taken his career since bursting on to the scene in the early 2000s, and it appears he could be on the move once again.
According to Titan Sports, Eto'o could be the latest big name on the way to China after strong links with second-tier side Dalian Yifang surfaced.
The Chinese transfer window slams shut at the end of this month, and the report claimed that the club are looking to secure the striker's signature as soon as possible.
The 35-year-old has been in great form for Antalyaspor since his move to Turkey in 2015, scoring 29 goals in 50 matches.
According to reports, Dalian Yifang chairman Shi Fenghe is expected to travel to Turkey to finalise the deal for Eto’o. The Cameroonian striker could sign a mega-bucks two-year deal at the Chinese side as they bid to break back into the top division – the Chinese Super League – for the first time since 2014.
The China League One side are managed by former Real Madrid head coach Juan Ramon Lopez Caro - who took charge of the Galacticos between December 2005 and July 2006, in between Vanderlei Luxemburgo and Fabio Capello.
The move would represent the biggest in Dalian Yifang's history - but have had two other stars on their books in the past.
The forward has racked up an incredible 118 caps for Cameroon, netting 56 times - as well as representing Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Everton to name a few.
Through his career, Eto'o has played 697 times, scoring 337 times, including 26 goals in 47 matches at Antalyaspor following his dry spell at Sampdoria.
