An attempt has been made again by the police to arrest Shehu Dikko, boss of the League Management Company (LMC) organisers of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Men claiming to be from the Nigerian police have twice attempted to arrest Dikko following an order from Justice I. I. Kunda of the Plateau State High Court in Jos.
On Sunday, October 9 two men claiming to be from Police officials from the Jos Police Command attempted to arrest Dikko at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport upon arrival from Zambia with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
According to eyewitness accounts, the men who were on mufti claimed that the LMC boss was wanted by the Abuja Police Commissioner.
They, however, failed to provide any arrest warrants which lead journalists and officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to wade in to prevent the arrest.
According to ace journalist Colin Udoh, one of the men pointed his gun at Kelvin Omuojine, a journalist before shooting into the air.

The order came over his refusal to reinstate Giwa FC to the NPFL after they were expelled for breach of NPFL Framework & Rules as they failed to honour three cumulative fixtures without acceptable reason.
