Date: October 15th, 2016
Venue: Campos Mini Stadium
Continuing from the success of GameDay 2, GameDay 3 deviates from the norm and would feature two rounds of matches for each team, bringing a total of eight matches to be played, starting with Guns vs Teknon.
Both teams have met only once at The TPL, at the 7th edition with Guns triumphing 2-0, this time around, Guns are also in search of their first win of the season, while Teknon would be hoping to bounce back from a GameDay 2 defeat to Pacers.
|Table after matchday 2|
Raptors vs Raineri takes centre stage, a replay of the TPL7 final, with Raptors yet to win or score a goal this season. Raineri on the other hand, saw their GameDay2 defeat to Alphas halt their 5 game winning streak. Both teams have met just twice; at TPL7, with Raineri winning both 2-1 and 2-0.
Next, Lotus vs Pacers will be the strongest test for the new boys after a convincing thumping of Raptors at GameDay2, Pacers have won two on the trot, while keeping it tight at the back with two consecutive clean sheets.
Alphas vs Tokio, a battle of the reds, sees Alphas on the back of a run of two wins from two, while Tokio avoided defeat with a 1-1 draw versus Guns at GameDay 2. Both teams have proven they can score goals and it would be interesting to see how the other new boys fare against the resurgent Alphas.
The second round of matches sees Lotus take on Teknon as both teams attempt to rack up the points and climb up the table.
It would be interesting to see how this plays out. Raptors vs Tokio would be the first meeting between both sides with both teams, neighbours at the bottom of the table, desperately in need of a win to move up the table.
Elsewhere, Guns vs Alphas comes at a time when both teams are having contrasting fortunes; Alphas are currently on a two-matches unbeaten run while Guns are struggling for form.
Coincidentally, Guns have won the two past encounters against Alphas, who hope it would be a case of third time lucky for them this time around.
Finally, Pacers take on Raineri, having a psychological advantage over the reigning champions, having won the only other encounter between both teams.
All matches promise to be explosive and we can only hope to see more of the EPL-esque goals TPL is known for.
