Tuttosport today revealed the nominations for the coveted Golden Boy award.
The Golden Boy is an award that is given by sports journalists to a young football playing in Europe perceived to have been the most impressive during a calendar year (two halves to two seasons).
All nominees must be under the age of 21 and play in a European nation's top tier.

Founded in 2003, 40
footballers under the age of 21 and registered in Europe are included in a
vote which asks members of the public to pick their winner.
Past winners include the likes of Paul Pogba, Sergio Aguero, Lionel Messi and the previous year’s winner Anthony Martial.

This year, the recently
revealed list shows some household names in the footballing world and fans of
the Super Eagles should be proud to see two of their very own being nominated
as well.
Alex Iwobi of Arsenal
and Kelechi Iheanacho of Man City have both been nominated for the 2016 Golden
Boy Award.
The two players both had a successful climax in the previous season and have both started the season with fire in their boots cementing their places as first team regulars.
It is also worthy to note this would not be Iheanacho’s first nomination after losing out to last year’s winner Anthony Martial.

The Super Eagles’ stars are not without competiton as they face six other players from the Premier League such as Dele Alli, Marcus Rashford, Gray Demarai Ramelle of Man City.
Other notable youngsters in the list include Renato Sanches and Kingsley Coman of Bayern Munich, Marco Asenio of Real Madrid, Breel Embolo of Schalke 04.
The award is traditionally presented in December.
