Sane Travels For Man City Medical
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is closing on another signing, with Schalke's Leroy Sane on his way to the club for a medical.
Schalke have confirmed that Sane has not travelled to their training camp, with the winger set to complete a five-year move for around €50 million.
Quite where all these attacking midfielders are going to play in the City XI is another question...
Chelsea Eye Lukaku
Meanwhile, are we at last approaching the end of the protracted saga that is the on-off possibility of striker Romelu Lukaku returning to Chelsea?
The Mirror reckons so, reporting that the Merseysiders have insisted Lukaku will be starting the new season at Goodison Park unless their £75m valuation is met.
That would shatter the British transfer record, set by Manchester United when they signed Angel Di Maria for £59.7m from Real Madrid.
But that record, of course, might not even exist by then if Manchester United can sign Paul Pogba first...
Zielinski Nears Napoli Switch
Napoli are expected to wrap up the signing of Poland midfielder Piotr Zielinski in the coming days, reports Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Azzurri will reportedly pay Udinese €18m for the 22-year-old, who's spent the past two seasons on loan at Empoli. The Pole had attracted interest from both AC Milan and Liverpool.
Jetro Willems’ Liverpool link
Reported Liverpool target Jetro Willems has further fuelled talk that he could be arriving at Anfield this month.
According to reports in Holland last month Klopp has made a £13million bid for the PSV defender to bring competition in the left-back slot for Alberto Moreno.
The 22-year-old, who is close friends with Georginio Wijnaldum, spoke about his future after PSV’s 1-0 win over Feyenoord in the Johan Cruyff Shield on Sunday and he refused to rule out a transfer.
Swansea will up their efforts to land Tottenham's Nacer Chadli and Leicester's Leonardo Ulloa after being rebuffed by Fernando Llorente in an effort to lure the former Spanish international to Wales, according to the Express.
Meanwhile the Swansea’s captain Ashley Williams is set to move to Everton in a £10m deal within the next 48 hours, Wales Online reports.
Arkadiusz Milik Joins Napoli
Poland striker Arkadiusz Milik has moved from Ajax Amsterdam to Napoli for £30million, his management group said on Monday. The 22-year-old replaces Gonzalo Higuain, who joined Juventus last week, at the Italian Serie A club.
'It's an honour I will become a part of Napoli with its amazing fans full of passion, a great club with a glorious history. I want to make these fantastic Napoli fans happy,' he said on the Facebook page of F-MG media.
Milik's move came after an impressive showing at the European Championship where Poland reached the knockout stage even though he only became a regular with Ajax in the second half of the season in which he scored 21 league goals.
Ajax, who signed Milik from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014, have gone back on a statement they released three weeks ago in which they said he would not be sold.
Lacazette To Arsenal?
Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette may yet leave Lyon despite this morning's report of a new contract on offer to keep the Frenchman happy.
According to quotes attributed to manager Bruno Genesio in the Mirror, should Arsenal or any other club offer up the right amount of money, the striker could leave Lyon.
"He can leave if Lyon want him to," Genesio is quoted as saying. "There are some offers that you cannot refuse."
Closing In On Arsenal Move?
Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi’s representatives will travel to London to meet with Arsenal, who are looking to end their search for a striker by signing the Argentine.
Monday morning’s papers in Italy confirm that Arsenal will firm up their interest in the player as the Gunners look to compete with Napoli.
In order to do that, they have to find €70million (almost £60million) for the transfer fee and around €5million (over £4.2million) annually on wages for the 23-year-old.
The former Sampdoria man admitted that he hasn’t been kept in the loop much with regards to his future, possibly hinting nothing has changed.
Newcastle Trigger Diame’s Clause
Newcastle are closing in on the signing of Hull City's Mohammed Diame man after triggering the release clause in his contract, sources close to the Premier League club have told ESPN FC.
The Magpies have offered £4.5 million for the Senegalese, which means the player is now free to talk to the Championship club.
Hull are fighting to keep Diame, who scored the winning goal in the Championship playoff final in May, at the KC Stadium by offering him a new deal.
Valencia Sign Montoya

The right-back, who has represented Spain at under-21 level, spent spells on loan at Inter Milan and Real Betis during a Barcelona career in which he made 66 appearances and scored two goals.
