While big clubs have been in the news for heavy spending on players deemed not worth it, Barcelona’s next move might just steal the spotlight.
For a while now, Barcelona have been trying to sell off Brazilian defender Douglas dos Santos but the player is having none of it. Barca attempted selling him off to Cruzeiro in Brazil for £1.5m Euros but the player refused to leave.
The right back joined the club in 2014 on a five-year contract and has only made 8 appearances for the team. The Brazilian intends to stay in Europe and get the Spanish nationality and the Catalan giants have seriously been making efforts to get him out of the club.
Finally, a deal has been made to Barcelona and it is a crazy one.
President of Club Deportivo Saski-Baskonia A.K.A Laboral Kutxa basketball team Josea Querejeta has offered Barcelona, their 6ft7 basketball player Adam Hanga, in exchange for a football player.
Barcelona have a basketball team which is managed by the club and it is being reported that the Catalan club has offered Douglas to them.
Josea Querejeta, interestingly, is also the chief of the Alaves football team that recently got promoted to the La Liga and has yet to reply to the offer of accepting Douglas.
If the deal eventually goes through, Barcelona get to offload Douglas, Alaves get a football player, Douglas remains in Spain, and Hanga gets to join Barcelona.
