Nigerian forward Fred Friday has signed a four-year contract with top-flight Dutch club AZ Alkmaar.
The 21-year-old striker is signed as a direct replacement for Vincent Janssen who has joined English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
Alkmaar warded off strong competition from German side Hertha Berlin and Russian club Spartak Moscow to land the prolific forward.
Friday who signed for the Dutch club today was asked by a journalist if he planned the move to fall on Friday in a funny interview.

Friday scored 28 goals in 65 appearances for Lillestrom. He is already the top scorer in the Norwegian League this season with nine goals.
