Former Super Eagles star Chinedu “Ogbuke” Obasi has left Norweigian club Lillestrom without any notice, the club has announced.
The 30 year old has been staging a comeback from a long battle with various injuries and has been training with Lillestrom for about a month and half, although he hasn't been offered a contract yet.
It appears the forward, who featured at the 2010 World Cup, was frustrated he had yet to be offered a contract and so did not say his goodbyes when he stormed out of Lillestrom this past week.
“He left without any notice, in short he disappeared,” a source informed AfricanFootball.com “He had yet to be given a contract by the club after he trained with them for more than a month.”Last October, Obasi, who incidentally started his career in Europe with another Norwegian club Lyn Oslo in 2005, tried out with Premier League club Sunderland, but was not given a contract. A once promising career has been plagued by various long-term injuries including shin and hamstring complaints.
