Chisom Chikatara has been cleared by the Confederation of African Football to feature for Wydad Casablanca in Wednesday’s CAF Champions League Group A clash against Egytian side Al Ahly.
The forward who recently linked up with the Casablanca-based side from Nigerian outfit, Abia Warriors, commenced training with the Rogue et Blancs on Wednesday.
CAF have contacted Wydad officials intimating them that the player is eligible to face the Cairo giants.
“All things being equal, Chisom will make his debut for Wydad against Al Ahly on Wednesday,” the source revealed. He is actually keen to start playing for his new side and it will actually be a tough debut for him against one of the top teams in Africa.”
Wydad sit at the top of the standings with seven points, while Ahly occupy the last position with a solitary point.
