Nigeria player John Utaka is lots of Naira richer after pocketing a huge sign-on fee in his two-year contract with his former Egyptian club Ismaily.
Utaka is back at Ismaily where he played between 1999-2001, signing a two-year-deal as a free agent.
As a free agent, African Football reports the 34-year-old got a hefty sign-on fee which is comparable to what other players get in Europe. Sources close to the forward revealed that the sign-on fee was the main reason he agreed a move back to Ismaily.
He enjoyed a successful period with Ismaily winning the Egypt Cup and emerging as league top scorer when he played for them. The 34-year-old last played for Sivasspor in Turkey.
