Wikki Tourists coach Abdu Maikaba has said the three points they got Sunday after they walked over Giwa FC will go a long in their Nigeria league championship quest.
Wikki walked over Giwa in Ilorin after the Jos club failed to show up at the Ilorin Stadium, where they have been banished after their home game against Rangers abandoned due to crowd trouble.
“We came to Ilorin to play and win this match, but we will also accept the points from the walkover. It will help us in our quest to be champions,” Maikaiba said.Wikki now have 22 points from 13 matches.
The Bauchi club turned down a request to play a friendly in Ilorin and headed back to their base moments after the walkover was staged.
