Leicester have made a revised bid of around £22million for CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa.
The Premier League champions were rebuffed with an £18m offer for the Nigerian in January but, as reported in Sportsmail, have revived their interest in recent weeks.
CSKA Moscow manager Leonid Slutskiy has confirmed Leicester have made a bid worth around €30m or £22.8m.
'The British club offered a bit less than €30m,' he told Match TV. 'Musa came to me a few days ago and asked when he [Ranieri] is back for the holidays and I told him I do not know, I do not know Ranieri.'
Asked whether talks had now re-opened, he added: 'I do not know for sure. It is the work of our management but I think the probability is high.'
The 23-year-old Musa finished the campaign with 18 goals as CSKA won the Russian Premier League title ahead of FC Rostov.
Musa 23, is believed to be on priority list of Ranieri in the summer transfer window as the Italian is keen to bring in experienced legs for the Champions League assignment ahead of his team.
Presently on holiday, Musa has been excused from the Super Eagles team that will face Mali on Friday by the Nigerian Football Federation so he can feature in the Joseph Yobo’s testimonial billed for same day in Port Harcourt.
