Hull City with three Nigerians, Moses Odubajo, Chuba Akpom and Sone Aluko are 180 minutes from a return to the Barclays Premier League.
This is after Hull City spanked Derby County 3-0 at the IPro Arena in the first leg of the Championship playoff on Saturday.
Odubajo started for Steve Bruce’s side, while Akpom came on late in the second half. Both Odubajo and Akpom are yet to be capped by the Super Eagles with Odubajo especially showing the kind of form that should attract the Nigeria Football Federation Technical committee.
Odubajo’s cross in the 40th minute took a wicked deflection off Jason Shackell to give Hull a two-goal lead.
He was however shown a yellow card in the second half for time wasting. He was also involved in a bloody clash with his goalkeeper, Eldin Jakupovic, in added though both players were treated and completed the game.
Left-back, Andrew Robertson, completed the rout in the sixth minute of added time to make the second leg on Tuesday almost a formality.
