Kano Pillars fans were unable to swallow the bitter pill of defeat following Wednesday’s shock 2-1 home loss to Enyimba in their NPFL rescheduled tie at the Sani Abacha stadium.
Fans turned violent as they saw their team miss out on a chance to go top on the league even as the match was stopped for about 10 minutes when some angry fans started throwing sachets of water at an assistant referee.
Pillars had taken the lead through Rabiu Ali in the testy tie labelled the Nigeria’s ‘El Clasico’ but Nzube Anaezemba scored the equalizer in the 51st minut.

The violent scenes continued after the game, with the Pillars fans going after the Enyimba team bus, with the driver reportedly injured after he was hit with an object.
Battered-Enyimba-driver-in-his-own-blood- The driver was pictured with his blue jersey drenched in his own blood thus fueling fears that Pillars may be hit hard by the LMC.
