Enugu Rangers keep top spot in the Nigeria Professional Football League for another week after romping to a 4-1 win over whipping boys Ikorodu United in their Match Day 17 encounter at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu on Sunday.
The Flying Antelopes who have been stuttering in their recent outings were in full throttle against the Oga Boys.
Francis Nnedum set the ball rolling with the first strike for Rangers in the 11th minute while Tope Olusesi doubled the lead for the hosts after combining well with Chisom Egbuchulam.
Rangers were three goals up in the 21st minute as Olusesi completed his brace but Moses Ebiye pulled one back for Ikorodu Utd barely two minutes after.
While one would have thought that the visitors would muster a comeback, it was never to be as Rangers instead extended their lead in the second half through Obinna Nwobodo who volleyed in the fourth goal for the hosts with five minutes left on the clock.
With the win, Rangers have 31 points from 17 games
