Hapoel Beer Sheva midfielder, John Ogu was named the Best Foreign Player in Israel after he was overwhelmingly voted by club Captains and immediately declared his desire to win his first career title.
Ogu received 64.2 percent of votes while his Nigerian compatriot Tony Nwakaeme (Hapoel Beer Sheva) finished second, Nikita Rukavytsya( Beitar Jerusalem) ranked third, Pedro Galvan (Bnei Yehuda) fourth and Evan Kangwa (Hapoel Ranana) failed to get a vote.
The 28-year-old was also nominated for the Player of the Season but the award went to Maccabi Tel Aviv Captain Eran Zahavi whom Ugu voted for as he cannot vote himself or a teammate. Ogu and Nwakaeme will be crowned champions of the Israeli league with Hapoel Beer Sheva if they beat Bnei Sakhnin on Saturday.
