Head coach of Akwa United Football Club Ere Dokubo says he cannot lay a finger on one reason why his troops were outclassed at the Agege stadium by Mountain of Fire Ministries Football Club – MFM FC.
Dokubo who has been installed on interim capacity as the Promise Keepers’ head coach following last week’s suspension of Maurice Coore watched from the sidelines as his side were mauled 3-0 by MFM who are still unbeaten on home turf since gaining promotion to the NPFL.
When quizzed on what he felt was responsible for the his team’s defeat -their third in their last four league fixture, the gaffer in his recation said:
“I can’t really figure out what went wrong today (Saturday). Two goals from striker Olatunbosun Sikiru and Stephen Odey’s fifth of the season helped the coach Fidelis Ilechukwu led side secure a comfortable victory. Read the match report HERE
But generally I’d say today is our bad day. I cannot attribute this defeat to any department for now.
“This is the first match I have handled as the head coach. By the time i return home, I will make a general investigation to find out what is wrong and then figure out how to make amends.”
Dokubo’s men whose slide from their current 10th spot down the log is inevitable having played one game more than three teams with more than 15 points behind them.
