Arsenal legend and former Nigeria Super Eagles captain Nwankwo Kanu has showered praises on Kelechi Iheanacho after the youngster bagged a brace in Manchester City’ 4-0 drubbing of Stoke City on Saturday
Kanu is particularly proud of Iheanacho’s rise to stardom as he reckons that the 19-year old passed through his academy before hitting limelight with the 2013 class of the Golden Eaglets.
Well done Kelechi ihenacho.Happy to see you scoring and Happy that you came from my academy. am proud of you— Kanu Nwankwo (@papilokanu) April 23, 2016
Iheanacho increased his goal tally in the League this season to five after hitting the brace in the game against Stoke City.
The 19-year old was also rewarded with the Man-of-the-match Award for his effort in Saturday’s game as City deservedly got their revenge over Mark Hughes’ men who beat them 2-0 in the reverse fixture at the Britannia Stadium last December.
