Liverpool are preparing to make a move for Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar as they look to bring the 23-year-old to the Premier League after Manchester United failed to secure the player’s signature.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have suffered a shortage of goals for most of the season with out-of-form Christian Benteke alongside Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi who have struggled for fitness.
According to Calciomercato, Babacar is the man who Liverpool’s scouts have identified to fix their goal-scoring woes as all three aforementioned strikers fail to make it into double figures for the season.

The 23-year-old from Senegal has bagged seven goals for Fiorentina this season but has often found himself playing second-fiddle behind Nikola Kalinic, who has been used as a lone striker for the majority of the season.
The Merseyside club are said to be monitoring his situation with an eye to snapping up the youngster for the bargain price of £4.7million.
What makes the signing versatile-striker more interesting is that he has already turned down Manchester United even if it was only back in 2009, when he rejected Sir Alex Ferguson’s approach to bring him to Old Trafford before eventually signing for Fiorentina for £35,000.
