Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema sealed an important win for Real Madrid on Saturday evening, giving them bragging right over Barcelona while cutting the gap at the top of La Liga to seven points.
All eyes were on Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane before the game and the Frenchman duly delivered in terms of tactics, with many praising his ability to stop Messi, Neymar and Suarez during El Clasico.
Spanish newspaper AS believe they have received Zidane's pre match tactics sheet before the crunch tie between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
AS have revealed that someone handed the tactics sheet over hours before the game had actually began, although they report that they are unable to independently verify that Zidane wrote these notes out with his own hand.
Despite this the tactics sheet is very interesting. Here they are:
AS made the following observation about the tactics:
"Another fundamental point dealt with in the notes is how to handle Messi falling deep into midfield to get on the ball: quick adjustments would need to be made in terms of marking and the defenders would have to be watchful for Luis Suarez's diagonal runs in behind the back line."
They also state that these tactics signify the importance of cutting out Barcelona's supply lie in the middle of the park, with Andres Iniesta and Ivan Rakitic clearly highlighted throughout.
