Riyad Mahrez is outshone by wonderstrike from Saphir Taider during Algeria's thumping win against Ethiopia. Saphir Taider's wonderstrike was the highlight as a Riyad Mahrez-inspired Algeria romped to a 7-1 victory over Ethiopia on Friday.
Mahrez, whose stunning performances in the Premier League this season have propelled Leicester towards the most unlikely of title triumphs, contributed two assists towards his country's African Cup of Nations qualifying win but he was outshone by a phenomenal goal from team-mate Taider.
The Bologna midfielder - who once had a season-long loan spell at Southampton cut short after just three weeks - produced an astonishing first-time volley from 25 yards for Algeria's fifth goal of the evening in Blida.

It provided perfect execution to a pre-planned corner routine for the Group J leaders, who have won each of their three qualifying fixtures so far. Taider's effort was sandwiched by a brace from Valencia's Sofiane Feghouli and goals from Rachid Ghezzal, Yacine Brahimi and Islam Slimani.
Getaneh Kebede scored the consolation for the beleaguered Ethiopians at Stade Mustapha Tchaker.
