Just hours after skipper Ahmed Musa struck twice in Russia, Eagles new invitee Fanendo Adi fired yet another warning to Egypt when he helped hosts Portland Timbers secure a point against nine-man Real Salt Lake.
Saturday’s MLS clash ended in a pulsating 2-2 draw with Adi one of the central actors in the drama. Adi, who netted 19 goals last season for MLS champions Portland, started the revival in the 80th minute to take the game to 2-1.
The big striker then completed his brace four minutes later to seal a 2-2 draw when he converted a spot kick.
The Eagles new invitee has now scored three goals in the new MLS season. His countryman, Sunday Stephen Obayan played full game for Real Salt Lake.
