Vincent Enyeama may go down as the most successful goalkeeper in the history of Nigerian football and also Lille of France after he made his 100th career start for the club.
The former Enyimba number one achieved this milestone in the 1-0 win over in-form Lyon at the weekend pulling off trademark saves to stop the visitors which has now seen him keep 45 clean sheets in 100 appearances for the Les Dogues.
The 33-year-old remarkably ended Paris Saint Germans winning streak two weeks ago when he Marshalled the Lille’s backline to a deserved goalless draw just before Laurent Blanc’s men defeated Chelsea 2-1 in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg tie.
Enyeama who is the highest capped Nigerian player ever with 101 appearances was left delighted after his achievement and took to instagram to thank God for the grace of his talent.
”With everything within me, I will praise/worship you my God. #Everything means nothing without you,” he wrote.
Enyeama joined Lille in 2011 and was loaned to Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv for the 2012/13 season before returning to the club where he has been the undisputed number one.
