Pillars striker Omo Johnson will be sidelined for at least two weeks after he suffered an ankle injury in a Nigeria league opening day action against Enugu Rangers.
He was forced out of the match by the injury. “Johnson suffered an ankle injury and he has been ruled out for two weeks,” announced Pillars spokesman Idris Malikawa.
He will therefore miss Wednesday's trip to Warri Wolves, the weekend's home game against Wikki and possibly the away trip to Abia Warriors.
This season, Johnson joined Pillars from Rivers United (formerly Dolphins). He was prolific in Pillars pre-season training and so started Sunday’s league opener as second striker behind skipper Gambo Mohammed.
