Chelsea have recalled Christian Atsu from his loan spell at AFC Bournemouth and put him in the club’s first-team squad, say reports. Atsu joined Bournemouth on a season-long loan agreement in the summer but has struggled for fitness and match minutes.
But new Blues boss Guus Hiddink is a huge fan, and Ghana Soccernet says he’s been recalled and put in the first-team squad. Atsu is already training with Chelsea and Hiddink is likely to register him and give him a chance to impress before the end of the window.
Atsu, who had been expected to spend the season at Vitality Stadium, has officially been recalled by Cherries’ Premier League rivals.
The Ghanaian international made just two appearances in the League Cup for the Dorset club, starting against Hartlepool and Preston. Atsu was hampered by a back injury during pre-season before suffering a stress fracture to his shin while on duty with Ghana in September.
