Deadly duo Jamie Vardy and Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez fired Leicester City to the top of the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over stru...
The pair struck either side of half-time to secure a sweet victory – which leaves Leicester two points ahead of Arsenal – for manager Claudio Ranieri over his former club, who grabbed a late consolation through Loic Remy.
Vardy opened the scoring in the 34th minute with his 15th goal of the season. Unsurprisingly, Algerian winger Mahrez was also involved, clipping a wonderful pass to the front post, which Vardy guided past Thibaut Courtois with impressive composure. Two minutes later Mahrez heaped further misery on Jose Mourinho’s Blues, bringing the ball down on the right hand side of the box, before cutting inside to fire an unstoppable curling effort. It was the 11th goal of the season for the 24 year old who also has 7 assists to his name.
