Watford striker Odion Ighalo has been nominated for the Premier League player of the month for the second consecutive month.
The Nigeria international who is already in Abuja for Friday’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Swaziland is joined on the shortlist by Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy, Arsenal’s duo of Mesut Ozil and Oliveri Giroud and Stoke’s Jack Butland.
Ighalo has been in blistering form for the Hornets of last scoring seven goals in 12 games just as Ozil has chalking up six assists in four appearances during October, while also finding the net in the win over Manchester United.
While Giroud benefited from such service, scoring three times in four games, and joins his team-mate on the shortlist.
Kevin De Bruyne provides sturdy competition on the list, scoring once and providing four assists of his own during his second month at the Etihad Stadium.
Jamie Vardy, the Premier League’s top scorer, is also nominated after scoring five goals in four matches for Leicester City.
The winner set to be announced on November 10.
