Nigeria’s Ahmed Musa recorded his name on the scorers’ sheet in CSKA Moscow 3-2 defeat of PSV Eindhoven in a Uefa Champions League game played at the Arena Khimki on Wednesday night.
The game which was Leonid Slutsky side’s first win in the competition saw the former Kano Pillars forward net the first goal of the encounter in the eighth minute.
They fell behind in when Zoran Tosic's inswinging corner from the right was allowed to drop to the feet of Musa, who turned the ball into the net after reacting faster than any of the PSV players around him.
CSKA doubled their advantage when Doumbia finished off Mario Fernandes' perfect right-wing cross, his looping header going up and over the outstretched right arm of Jeroen Zoet in the visiting goal.
Doumbia's second of the game came from the spot, Zoet being sent the wrong way after he had conceded the foul by halting Tosic's charge towards goal with an ill-timed lunge.
The result, coupled with Manchester United triumphing 2-1 at home to Wolfsburg, means all four teams in Group B now have three points to their name.
CSKA Moscow host Manchester United in their next game of the competition.
Serge Aurier had a dream Champions League debut on Wednesday, scoring one goal and setting up another to help PSG win 3-0 at Shakhtar Donetsk.
Aurier headed PSG’s opener in the seventh minute, and the Ivory Coast right-back sent in a corner kick for David Luiz to make it 2-0.
PSG sealed victory when Zlatan Ibrahimovic unleashed a shot that ricocheted off the Shakhtar captain, Darijo Srna, and flew into the net in the 90th minute.
The French club made it two wins from as many games to share the lead at the top of Group A on six points with Real Madrid, who won 2-0 at Malmo with two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Elsewhere, Atletico Madrid lost at home to Benfica, despite taking the lead in the first half through Angel Correa.
Nicolas Gaitan levelled for the Portuguese outfit before the break, before Goncalo Guedes sealed the points in the second half.
Alvaro Morata's strike four minutes before the break and a late Simone Zaza goal made it two wins out of two for Juventus, as they beat Sevilla 2-0 in Turin.
Galatasaray drew 2-2 at FC Astana in the early kick-off.
