Tottenham misfit Emmanuel Adebayor has left the club by mutual agreement, after the club and player finally agreed terms about the rest of...
Adebayor has not played for the north London club this season, and had been training with the reserves, but rejected the chance to move before the end of the transfer window, insisting that Spurs pay him the £5m left on his contract.
But that issue appears to have been resolved, with the club confirming that he had now been released from the contract.
A club statement read: 'We can confirm that we have reached a mutual agreement with Emmanuel Adebayor which will see him released from his contract with the Club.'
The striker, who scored 42 times for Spurs since joining, initially on loan from Manchester City, in 2011, will not however be allowed to sign for another club until January.
