The international break has come and gone and action resumes all around Europe with most of the top teams in action this weekend. Here is a preview of some of the mouthwatering matches to look forward to this weekend.
MANCHESTER UTD VS LIVERPOOL
Manchester United host Liverpool in a match that’s will go a long way in determining the season of both teams.
This is a fixture that stirs up much rivalry between the two most successful clubs in English football, both teams went to the international break with losses and will look to bounce back after disappointing defeats and kick-start there season again.
ATHLETICO MADRID VS BARCELONA
The rojio blancos take on the Catalan giant in what is the biggest fixture of the weekend in Spain. Barcelona are unbeaten in their first two matches prior to the international break, so also is there host who even sit a place above the last season champion.
Athletico will want to put the horror showing of last season behind them when they lost both legs of this particular fixture and couldn’t retain their la liga title.
They will be bouyed by the form of the new signings settling in just fine. On the other hand, Barcelona will have to be at their best if they are to leave the Vincente Calderon with all three points coupled with their recent injury woes and suspensions.
INTER VS AC MILAN
The derby Della Madonina is by the most keenly contested match in Italy and also the most viewed. The two neighbors who share the same stadium come head to head in this fixture for the first time this season and it promises to be a classic derby.
Inter are unbeaten in the league and have maximum points from two games, AC Milán on the other hand have had a shaky start to the season; winning one and losing one but that doesn’t give then the underdog tag as they have won the derby more.
With new crop of players arriving at both teams and new managers with different tactical nous, this might be the biggest and most interesting Milan derby in years.
CSKA MOSCOW VS ZENIT ST PETERSBURG
Champions Zenit visit table topper and bitter rivals CSKA Moscow who have been in terrific form since the start of the Russian Football Season and face a very difficult task if they are to topple them.
CSKA would not want to have a repeat of the past season where they lost both home and away to Zenit and also knowing a win would put a more wider gap between them
