Two former Super Eagles stars found vibrant transfer interests coming their way this past weekend, as Taye Ismaila Taiwo sealed a deal in Finland, while John Chukwudi Utaka inched nearer a return to Montpellier of France.
Details of the report reveal that, while Utaka is still angling for the reunion at Montpellier, Taye Taiwo already has a sealed deal with HJK Helsinki and looks good for a debut in Finland on Monday.
This comes on the heel of reports that the Helsinki-based Finland champions are delighted to announce the signing of the 30-year-old left-footed free- kick expert, who was earlier searching for a new club after severing ties with Bursaspor of Turkey.
The former Olympique Marseille of France, AC Milan of Italy, Queens Park Rangers of England and Dynamo Kiev of Ukraine defender had previously been linked with Legia Warsaw of Poland in the January transfer window but it failed to materialize.
Taiwo, who earlier opted out of a similar offer in Norway, initially penned a short-term deal for two months, but HJK have now taken up the option of extending the agreement between the parties by an extra season.
